MOKOPANE POLICE URGE THE PUBLIC TO PROVIDE VALUABLE INFORMATION THAT CAN LEAD TO ARREST OF UNKNOWN SUSPECTS RESPONSIBLE FOR A MURDER INCIDENT
POLOKWANE:The South African Police Service in Mokopane, under the Waterberg District, is appealing to the community for assistance in apprehending the unknown suspects involved in a murder that occurred on Thursday, 27 March 2025.
At approximately 19:50, police responded to a murder complaint at Nyl Park on Kudu Street. Upon arrival, they found Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel at the scene, who presented the lifeless body of a male victim exhibiting severe injuries, covered with a sheet.
The motive behind this violent incident remains unclear as investigations are ongoing. A bystander reported that members of the community allegedly assaulted the victim, suspecting him of attempting to break into a residence, before fleeing the scene.
The cause of death will be established following a forensic pathology postmortem, which is scheduled to take place shortly. The victim, identified as Ernest Mthimkhulu, a Zimbabwean national believed to be in his forties, was confirmed at the scene by next of kin.
A manhunt for the unknown suspects is currently underway.
