A 39-year-old security officer has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting incident that occurred during an eviction operation in Seshego, Limpopo. The incident took place on Tuesday morning, April 1, 2025, at the Juju Valley informal settlement, outside Polokwane.


According to reports, violence erupted when occupants began attacking security officers with stones, damaging a TLB vehicle. Amid the chaos, a shot was fired, fatally wounding a 63-year-old man. The police have opened a case of murder and confiscated four licensed firearms belonging to the security company for ballistic analysis.


The suspect is expected to appear before the Seshego Magistrate's Court soon, facing a charge of murder. The South African Police Service (SAPS) urges the public to remain calm and allow the investigation process to unfold. Further updates will be provided as the case progresses ¹.
