POLOKWANE: The Provincial Commissioner of police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe applauded the good work by men and women in blue who worked tirelessly resulting in the apprehension of a 27 year old male suspect in connection with a brutal murder of a woman who's body was found covered with a plastic bag.

The police in Tinmyne under Waterberg District were alerted to this gruesome discovery of a lifeless body of female victim,  which was in an advanced state of decomposition, wrapped with a plastic bag under the bridge on Sunday 23 March 2025 at about 13:10 . 


Responding to the gruesome scen, the police conducted an intelligence driven operation led by SAPS Mahwelereng detectives and Tinmyn. The operation yielded positive results and a suspect was identified and subsequently  arrested at Mookgophong on Saturday, 12 April 2025.


Preliminary reports revealed that the suspect allegedly committed murder at Rosslyn, Pretoria north in Gauteng, then disposed of her body at Mamatlakala bridge village in Limpopo Province Waterberg District.


The suspect made his first court appearance on Monday, 14 April 2025, and he will appear again in Pretoria North Magistrate's court soon.


The motive of the incident is unknown at this stage and postmortem analysis will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
